Your Patient Transport Questions, Answered

Find out if you’re eligible, how to book, and what to expect from your journey with TheCareUber.

You may be eligible if you have a medical need such as requiring oxygen or specialist equipment, limited mobility (needing a wheelchair or stretcher), or a cognitive or sensory impairment. Integrated Care Boards apply national NHS eligibility criteria, sometimes with local variations.

NEPTS is a free NHS service for patients who meet the eligibility criteria. Financial hardship alone doesn't qualify you, but you may be able to claim costs through the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS) if you're not eligible for NEPTS.

Call our friendly team and we'll confirm your eligibility, take your appointment details and arrange your pickup time.

We can tell you about other options in your area, including community transport, volunteer drivers and the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS). You can also speak to your GP practice or local Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).

Yes — we provide regular return transport for patients who need ongoing treatment such as renal dialysis, as well as one-off hospital appointments and discharges.
